Three small things in real 3D, written from scratch in WebGL with no libraries. Drag to orbit. Tab to a scene and use the arrow keys if you prefer the keyboard.

SPECIMEN_01

Heat relief

A thermal-style street image, lifted into 3D by how hot each pixel is, so the people stand up out of the road. Click to send a pulse through it. Double-click to reset the view.

A thermal-style overhead view of people crossing a striped crosswalk. The people glow red and orange against black, the road stripes are cyan, and yellow boxes with labels like PERSON_01XY are drawn around them.

SPECIMEN_02

Pixel monolith

Every pixel of a pixelated portrait becomes a bar, and the darker the pixel, the taller the bar. Move across it and the bars rise to meet you. Click for a shockwave.

A pixelated portrait of one person’s head and shoulders, repeated three times in offset colour layers: yellow and orange on the left, magenta and blue in the middle, cyan and white on the right.

SPECIMEN_03

The crystal, unrendered

The spinning crystal from the home page, this time as real geometry over a scrolling grid. Change how many sides it has and watch the reflection follow.

drag to orbit

Keyboard: tab to a scene, then use the arrow keys to orbit, + and − to zoom and 0 to reset. The two images are shown as artwork, and their status is explained on the credits page.
